– Inception..2010

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan

rohit SAYS,

What to tell? Ho do I sum up in words what I’ve been subjected to? Is there any chance of coming up with a written article that’s worthy of the masterpiece I’ve just seen? Is anyone worthy of analyzing this new Nolan wonder?

I’ll give it a shot tough.

Remember the truck sequence of ‘The Dark Knight’? What makes it such a great sequence is that it deals with not only guns and trucks, but, also with the human behavior. In short it is more character driven unlike most of the dumb action sequences of Hollywood. There is not the slightest bit of exaggeration when I say that ‘Inception’ is a 140-minute truck sequence.

If you are looking for the plot or the other clichés of reviews, you can stop reading this. This is more of an article dedicated to what most people are already referring to as ‘the greatest director of our generation’. What you can learn from the trailer is all you need to mentally prepare yourself for this Nolanish experience.

The whole theory of stealing ideas from within one’s dreams, dreams within dreams etc might seem a little confusing at first, but, the film had gradually and intelligently explained what’s happening and in a very enjoyable way too. This is just a ‘caution note’ in case you feel the film’s messing with your ‘within’ at the start.

Caution 2. It’ll take a minimum of 12 hours to get over the intensity of these silver screen images.

Rating – √√√√√ – Ma(gI{ca[L]})

The thought of somebody out there who can out do (or at least match) an experience like ‘the Dark knight’ seems like something out a fairy tale.

Cinematography by Wally Pfister

Edited by Lee Smith

Music by Hans Zimmer

just watched the movie…i felt the whole idea was very amusing…true there are moments where freud mustve turned in his grave…but overall a great experience…
amazed at the way, an idea if discussed in our lounges could easliy passover as madness is developed into fantastic rationality…

  3. Suhaas says:

    Truly a masterpiece…Kudos to Christopher Nolan…

  4. daskino says:

@srijana. Nolan had made a reference to freud and his theories in one of his interviews and he was apparently trying to put togeher the psychological theories of Freud and Stanley Kubrick.

  5. daskino says:

@tanay. lol..but think of it again, even Ghajini was hardly a rip off, taking into account how terribly it was made
